Facebook, ReverbNation and Twitter "LOC", born Christopher Stewart on November 12th in Kansas City, Missouri; being raised in Kansas City LOC always had a love for music. From singing in the choir at his grandmother's church, to writing rhymes and performing them for family while he was in elementary school, LOC always knew music was the world to him. Growing up LOC was influenced by Bone Thugs and Harmony, Mack 10, E-40, Tupac, Scarface, 8Ball & MJG and Fat Tone. Listening to west coast rap convinced LOC that he wanted to become a lyricist. LOC's first group was called "Doom Squad." He formed the rap group while in high school with three other rap enthusiasts. Doom Squad rapped about the everyday life of a young black male growing up in Kansas City. Growing up in Kansas City LOC was exposed to a lot of violence and crime. He lost many friends to drugs, violence, murder, and prison.
In February of 2005, three months before his high school graduation, LOC was shot while leaving a party. This near death experience allowed LOC to reevaluate his life and where it was headed. He decided to make a change and was introduced to a man named Richard Herring. Richard was seasoned in the music industry and took LOC under his wing. While schooling LOC on the music industry, Richard helped him push his first professionally produced singles, "Check out the Js" and "Understood." This created a buzz for LOC in Kansas City. He was put on mixtapes and featured in concerts. In September of 2007, LOC's life was changed forever. His daughter was born. LOC realized he needed to step up his game in the music industry and really get on his grind. LOC had to make something happen for himself, and his family. With this new found drive and direction, LOC decided to move to New Orleans in 2008 with his cousin Antonio "KC Da Beat Banga" Kearney as his producer. Antonio was fresh off the success of co-producing “Action” on Lil Wayne’s largest selling album to date “The Carter III” and together they pursued finishing LOC's album. Within the first few months of living there, LOC was introduced to Verdell "V Script" Muller an R&B song writer and Rantz Davis "The Playboy of R&B," a New Orleans singer. LOC quickly found himself writing music for others than for his self. In 2010, LOC singed a writer’s agreement with KHAO Music Group, owned and run by multi platinum producer Kevin “KHAO” Cates. Loc was excited and pleased about the new opportunity but found out quickly that he was not happy with just writing for placements and the process was moving slower than he hoped. At the beginning of 2011 LOC’s contract had ended, he decided to take another chance and go back to what he loved initially, being an artist. He formed a company called "G.I.F.T. Enterprise" With, KC Da Beat Banga and Ramon Moses; LOC decided to sign himself to his OWN Company with G.I.F.T. standing for Getting It For Tomorrow. Now with his own company, strong team and valuable relationships gained throughout the industry LOC is ready to take the music world by storm…starting with his new hit single “When I Go”!!!
